How do I know if I can make changes to my benefits?
Outside the normal open enrollment period, you must notify Talent Management & Retention (TMR) within 30 days of the qualifying event to change your benefits. If you do not enroll within this time frame, you must wait until the subsequent annual open enrollment period next year.
Special Enrollment: If you acquire a new dependent or if your spouse involuntarily loses eligibility under his/her employer sponsored plan, you may add them during the plan year within 30 days of this event.
Loss of Coverage: If you are covered under another plan and lose coverage during the plan year, you have 30 days to enroll in the plan.
Family Status Change: If you have a change in family status during the plan year, you are also allowed to make a change to your plan at that time within 30 days of the event.
What is a family status change? Marriage, death, adoption/birth of a child, or legal separation. This is not a complete list of the legal regulations. If you have questions, please contact your TMR Business Partner.
Dependent children up to age 26 can be covered: You may enroll your dependent child(ren) during new hire or open enrollment. Children covered by the plan will remain covered until the end of the year they reach age 26 (unless otherwise noted) or if you drop them from your plan.
If you qualify for a change in benefits, you can go to benefits section in Paycom and then go to Qualifying Events. From there you will add your qualifying event. Once submitted, this will go to TMR to be approved. Once approved you will be sent a notification to select the needed benefits.
Can I take money from my 401k?
There are several applicable reasons you may take out a hardship withdrawal from your 401K.
They include:
- To pay expenses for medical care previously incurred by you, your spouse or dependent, or are necessary for you, your spouse or your dependent to obtain medical care.
- To pay costs related to the purchase of your principal residence, excluding mortgage payments or refinancing.
- To pay amounts necessary to prevent your eviction or foreclosure from your principal residence.
- To pay tuition, related educational fees, and room and board expenses for the next twelve (12) months of post-secondary education for you, your spouse, or dependent(s).
- To pay burial or funeral expenses for your deceased parent, spouse, children, or other dependents.
- To pay expenses for the repair of damage to your principal residence that would qualify for the casualty deduction under the Internal Revenue Code
Also, in order to qualify for a hardship withdrawa you must have no other resources or savings to take care of the immediate and heavy financial need, including the ability, if any, to access your account by way of a participant loan under this plan or other plans of your employer(s).
To request the hardship withdrawal, you will need to complete this form and turn it into Heidi Liddle ([email protected]).
If you are unsure if you qualify for the hardship withdrawal you can contact Greenleaf Trust at (866) 553-8400 or [email protected] to discuss your options. You can also reach out to Heidi Liddle ([email protected]) for questions and/or concerns.
