Kalamazoo has recently been identified as the #1 COVID-19 Delta variant transmission hotspot city in the state of Michigan. The increase in positive cases in Kalamazoo County and the risk to our employees have led to the decision to cancel our event. I sincerely apologize for the late notice and any inconvenience this decision may cause. However, out of an abundance of caution while circumstances continue to rapidly change, we have been left little to no choice as we strive to provide the safest environment for our employees and their families.
What happens next?
- Employees who registered may keep and enjoy their gift bags and shirts.
- Wristbands for the Gilmore Car Museum are still valid for Saturday. It is up to you whether you would still like to use them. The Museum is open from 9 AM until 6 PM.
- We are looking at recognizing service anniversaries via video or livestream and could potentially hold our cash game that same way. Details will be shared as available.
- Please check with your supervisor for your Saturday work schedule.
If you have not gotten the vaccine, please strongly reconsider as the FDA has approved the Pfizer vaccine and we anticipate additional approvals soon. Finally, remain diligent about mask wearing and social distancing and stay home if you are sick. Let’s take all necessary steps possible and strive to make the end of 2021 a return to normalcy!
